Rainfall attenuation over terrestrial microwave link operating at 19

Rain induced attenuation at 19.4 & 28.75 GHz over a terrestrial path link of 2.29 km was measured for the period of one year in Amritsar (31 36 N 74 52E) environment. An empirical model for predicting rain-induced attenuation on terrestrial path link is proposed. Measured prediction has been compared with the recently prediction method proposed by the International Telecommunication union (ITU-R). It appears that our prediction found differ from those predicted by ITU-R equation for the rain rate encountered in this period.
